The Montrose Regional Library District is seeking a creative, self-motivated Teen Services Librarian to connect and collaborate with our teen community and provide excellent customer service at the library’s Reference Desk.

We value candidates who can keep a flexible and positive attitude while navigating the public library environment; possess strong communication and organizational skills; are comfortable with people of all ages and from all backgrounds; are passionate about developing youth leadership potential and empathetic to the teen experience; and enjoy reaching out to the community, building relationships, and creating innovative teen programs. An ideal candidate is enthusiastic about working with teens; has flexibility to work evenings and weekends as assigned, including Saturdays; and possesses the ability to perform more physically intensive duties, which can include lifting and pushing heavy materials, bending and kneeling, and being mobile for much of the day. Due to the nature of this position, we appreciate (but do not require) a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited university and one year of varied and robust experience in a public library. We offer benefits including health, dental, vision, and life insurance; retirement; and vacation, personal, and sick leave, in addition to holidays. The starting rate for a Teen Services Librarian is $41,700 annually, with an additional increase for a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited university; we will also provide an increase for proficiency in Spanish.
