Job Description

HIRING RANGE DOQ: $3,585.60 - $3,999.20 bi-weekly

JOB SUMMARY 

Siouxland Libraries is seeking a highly motivated, innovative, and skilled library professional to serve as Assistant Director of Siouxland Libraries. This person will oversee operational services across 13 locations and will manage leaders who are responsible for system-wide and branch services. The successful candidate will lead the implementation of department strategic planning, and will plan, direct, and manage library operations and related outreach activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from an ALA accredited college or university with a master’s degree in library science and a minimum of six (6) years of library management experience with demonstrated areas of progressive responsibility and a minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience; or any such combination of education, experience, and training as may be acceptable to the hiring authority.

OUR COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS SUMMARY

·         Competitive salary with other public and industry positions, including step advancements.

·         The City participates in the South Dakota Retirement System. Employees receive a 6% match.  Additionally, employees may choose to enroll in a                     Deferred Compensation Plan.

·         Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance: Competitive rates for single, 2-party, and family.

·         11 paid holidays and 2 personal leave days each calendar year.

·         New employees are granted 40 hours of vacation at time of hire and accrue an additional 2 weeks in their first year.

·         Sick leave accrues over 96 hours per year.
