Job Description

About This Role:The ILS Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operations of K-State Libraries’ Interlibrary Services Unit. This unit collaborates with other libraries to obtain access to library resources requested by K-State students, faculty, and staff that are not owned by K-State Libraries. The unit reciprocates by providing similar services to other libraries. In addition, the unit delivers scans of K-State Libraries’ articles and chapters requested by K-State’s students, faculty, and staff and ships K-State physical materials to distance patrons. In addition to providing coordination of the unit’s services and operations, the person in this position processes incoming borrowing and lending requests. This full-time position reports to the Head of Library User Services and supervises 2 to 3 employees who are University Support Staff or Professional Staff.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Library and/or Information Science from an ALA-accredited program
  • Strong understanding of OCLC ILLiad
  • Experience with an integrated library system
  • Experience providing reference services
  • Demonstrated successful personnel supervision and/or team management experience
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of standard computer office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Access)
  • Strong customer service orientation
