The Middletown Public Library in Rhode Island is looking for a 25 hours per week Library Assistant to join our fabulous team! Work in our small but busy library in an exciting time in MPL history - getting to help design and imagine a new library of our dreams!

This job might be for you if:
-Your customer service and librarianship is people-centered.
-You have interest and/or experience with planning fabulous programs for youth of all ages and creating a welcoming environment for kids, tweens, & teens ages 0-18 and their adults.
-You have interest and/or knowledge on interacting with teens and tweens.
-Your public service is rooted in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Community. 

Qualifications
This role will be filled by a high school graduate, preferably with two years of college and/or library experience.

Schedule is 25 hours per week and includes nights and weekends – most likely closing one night a week and working every other Saturday on rotation, as well as at least one Sunday per month at a premium rate. A regular work week is 5 days per week for 5 hours a day.

Salary is in accordance with established pay scale, and is $16 an hour to start.
