Job DescriptionThe Circulation Supervisor manages the operations and activities of the Circulation Department by providing excellent customer service, personnel management and material handling. The position also maintains fiscal responsibility for the Circulation Department including budgeting, statistical reporting and collection of fees and materials. The position reports to the Associate Director of Public Services and ensures PCCLD directives are implemented in the Circulation Department; leads a team of circulation/customer service staff including direct supervision, performance management and development; and is responsible for developing and implementing the programs and services for the Circulation Department. The position also recommends PCCLD circulation policies and procedures and coordinates circulation procedures between main library, branches and satellites. This position requires a hands-on manager who assists customers with completion of library card applications, issues library cards, and maintains current customer information. Using computer system and magnetic book security equipment assists customers with borrowing, returning, and renewing materials. Locates and checks out hold and request materials. Receives fines, fees, book payments, operates cash register, makes change, and fills out payment slips. Explains library programs and services, regulations, and resolves complaints.
Additional Info & Requirements3 Years experience that includes a combination of business administration, customer service and employee supervision.
