                                                                                                             ILL Library Assistant Part-Time

Pay Grade: 34

Wages: $16.63 - $22.50 Hour

FLSA Classification: Non Exempt

Hours: 10 week

Location: District Support Services    Greeley, CO 80631

Department: Collection Resources

Deadline: 02/15/2024

Role:

To provide requested materials to patrons and to other libraries and systems. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities: 

15% - PATRON ASSISTANCE - Assists patrons in the use of ILL services to find materials not available locally by using the internet, email, telephone, fax,
postal service and application software in order to meet the time frame and check out period that works for the patron; answers questions regarding the use
of ILL materials and policies regarding check out periods, renewing items, and lost or damaged items in order to provide materials from outside the library
district. (E) 

25% - RECORD MAINTENANCE & MATERIAL PREPARATION - Maintains records in Excel, OCLC, SWIFT, ILLiad and Sierra databases by marking items as
checked in, entering due dates and notes in Sierra, and placing due dates on materials and ILL forms in order to prepare materials for check out by patrons.(E) 

20% - RECEIVING MATERIALS – Checks-in items on loan from other library systems and materials being returned to the library district from lending library systems by opening courier bins, sorting items, and routing to appropriate branches in order to fulfill patron requests. (E) 

20% - RETURNING MATERIALS - Returns materials to lending library systems using SWIFT, ILLiad or other application software; makes notes in Sierra records that an item is in-transit and places items in courier bins in order to return borrowed materials. (E) 

15% - LOCATING MATERIALS - Locates materials outside of the District by searching ILL databases and contacting other libraries for
requested titles in order to identify the best location from which to request materials. (E) 

5% - OTHER DUTIES – Assists Supervisor with projects in order to ensure the smooth operation of the department. (N) 

Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma (or GED) 

Experience in a library position 

Intermediate level computer skills 

Or any equivalent combination of experience, which provides the critical success factors.

Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
