Job Description
The Town has an exciting Librarian position available within the South Kingstown Public Library. The Library Division is accepting applications for the position of Program & Outreach Librarian. This full time position will work Monday through Wednesday and Friday 9am to 5pm, Thursday 10am to 6pm with rotating Saturdays and some evenings required.
The professional in this position plans, executes, and enhances diverse adult programs to promote library engagement. Responsible for coordinating efforts to bring the library out to the community within the framework of the library's approved program of service. Identifies new opportunities and collaborates with staff, community partners, and Friends of the Library groups to align programs with the community's diverse needs. This position will also foster community engagement and coordinate outreach activities with appropriate library team members. The position will perform regular public service duties including staffing reference desks, answering reference questions, providing reader's advisory to all patrons, and providing excellent customer service to all visitors.
To qualify you must have a Master’s Degree in Library Science from an American Library Association accredited graduate program. This position requires a valid state driver’s license or ability to obtain prior to employment. Must also be dependable, detail oriented, and have a pleasant, helpful manner. The position pays $28.23 per hour and after successful completion of a six month probationary period will increase to $28.99 per hour.

Benefits & Additional Compensation Info
The position pays $28.23 per hour and after successful completion of a six month probationary period will increase to $28.99 per hour.
