Job Description
The Collection Development Librarian is responsible for reviewing, selecting, assessing, weeding, and promoting collections to support the learning, teaching, and research of Auraria Campus users. Our aim for our collections is to create a diverse, robust, and well-used print and online collection reflecting the needs and interests of the campus community and ensuring users have access to diverse perspectives, histories, and ideas. This position routinely communicates with users about the collections and works closely with colleagues across the library to ensure the collections reflect the needs and interests of users. The librarian prioritizes creating a diverse and inclusive collection and is committed to staying informed about trends, developments, and best practices related to collection development and their subject areas. The Auraria Library is located in downtown Denver, and serves the students, faculty, and staff of three leading urban institutions: University of Colorado Denver; Metropolitan State University of Denver; and Community College of Denver.
