Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and talented Digital Marketing and Graphic Designer Specialist with a social media background to join our team. This role will be responsible for developing and executing digital marketing strategies, social media posts, creating engaging content, and producing captivating graphic design assets.

This is a full-time, 40-hour per week, non-exempt position.

Essential Functions:

  • Create and execute digital marketing campaigns on diverse channels, such as social media and email marketing, aimed at boosting awareness and engagement of programs and events. (20%)
  • Produce compelling graphic design assets for digital and print marketing campaigns, social media posts, and digital advertisements. (50%)
  • Manage and strategically improve the library’s social media presence on platforms including Facebook, X, and Instagram by creating and scheduling engaging posts, tracking impact, and interacting with social media participants. (20%)
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in digital marketing, web design, and graphic design to maintain a competitive edge. (5%)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including programing, and outreach, to align marketing efforts with overall business objectives. (5%)

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Manages a clear, transparent communication system for colleagues to track project status, deadlines, and deliverables.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, or a related field. Minimum of five years of experience in marketing or communications roles, with expertise in social media engagement, content writing for digital and print marketing, and graphic design.
  • Skills:
  • Demonstrated strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail and effective interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software and marketing tools (Canva, InDesign, etc.) and social media management tools. Proficiency in making changes to the website.
  • Expertise with analysis of social media metrics to evaluate impact and effectiveness of digital marketing and communication strategies
  • Technical Experience: Expertise using Adobe InDesign or similar graphic design programs. Experience developing multimedia web content.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Work experience in the public sector.
  • Experienced with publication production, including graphic design and printing.
  • Expertise with using Associated Press style.

Working Conditions:

Work primarily in an office setting. Work may include extended periods of time viewing a computer monitor and operating a keyboard. Requires sufficient manual dexterity that permits the employee to operate a computer, office, and library equipment. Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes which permit the employee to work in a multilevel facility. Seeing, hearing, and speaking required.
