Job Description

The Library Corporation (TLC) is currently accepting applications for the position of Implementation Project Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of a public library’s use of technology and service goals and be able to employ standard project management methodology and process to supervise the evolution of new TLC customer accounts from contract signing to successful implementation, and be able to envision an entire project from inception to completion with the ability to ensure vision is realized. Responsibilities: • Provides expertise in planning, executing, controlling, and closing processes spanning the full project life cycle • Manages implementation, testing, and roll-out activities in large, multi-vendor systems integration projects • Effectively and proactively manages client expectations and engages in forward thinking project planning • Coordinates all project activities and ensures continuity of project vision and work plans across internal groups and customer • Coordinates with internal groups to develop implementation project work plan, monitors activities against plan, ensures teams are staying on schedule, and escalates delays immediately • Monitors process performance and recommends process improvements aimed at elevating product quality • Obtains client sign-off on all contractual documents • Manages all project risks through a continual process of identifying, assessing, tracking, developing and executing risk mitigation strategies

Additional Info & Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years project management experience • Strong problem-solving, issue resolution, negotiation and diplomacy skills • Travel to customer sites is estimated at 25-30% Excellent Communication Skills: • Facilitates team and client meetings effectively • Keeps project team including stakeholders well informed • Effectively communicates relevant project information to superiors • Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized presentations • Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion • Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully Technical Skills: • Possesses general understanding in the areas of application programming, database and system design • Understands Internet, Intranet, Extranet and client/server architectures • Proficient in scheduling tools such as MS Project and management tools such as Basecamp
