Pay Rate: $19.10 - $23.20

Are you ready to level up your library skills? Do you enjoy collaborating within teams and across locations in support of library patrons? Do you bring a smile to work to enhance the experience of everyone around you? Do you enjoy leading others through processes and coaching them along the way? Do you find people asking you random questions or jumping in to help others before you're asked? This may be the job for you!

As a Senior Library Specialist at Castlewood Library, you are an active part of the library community, connecting patrons and staff members with the resources and information they need. You will use your public library experience and exemplary customer service to:

  • Train and mentor new/less experienced staff.
  • Coordinate with specialized departments.

You'll have the patience to continue to support patrons and staff as they learn about new resources and procedures, how to better utilize resources they do understand, and support our ever-changing world. You maintain a team-focused attitude where you keep an eye on our processes and how things are working - notice when something isn't functioning in an ideal way, and you bring along a proposed solution and a willingness to be part of the solution. You pay attention to detail and strive to optimize library systems for the branch and the district.

You are reliable and on-time and know the impact when you're not. You read schedules and can interpret changes and where to go next. You like teams and you extend support and kindness to colleagues. You take the initiative to solve problems and then share the information with others.

Must have:

  • A collaborative and growth mindset amid change.
  • Patience and aptitude for working with patrons of all backgrounds.
  • Ability to find answers to things you don't know.
  • Positive contributor and supportive team member and invested in the success of teammates.
