Job Description
The Greenville Public Library is seeking a part-time Reference Assistant.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct assistance to patrons using the public computers
- Instruct and assist patrons with copying, faxing, and scanning
- Assist patrons in locating, checking out, and returning materials
- Assist patrons in accessing the online catalog as well as digital resources, including apps for our ebooks and databases
- Demonstrate an understanding and respect for diversity and inclusion
- Other duties as assigned by Assistant Director and/or Director
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Previous library experience required
- Experience with Koha, Aspen Discovery preferred
- Previous experience working in a customer service position required
- Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds
- Schedule flexibility preferred
Skills:
- Commitment to outstanding customer service
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work interdepartmentally
- Ability to troubleshoot technology issues, including devices and equipment in-house and with patron devices
Hours: 15 hours per week. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday shifts. Potential for evening and Saturday hours.
Compensation: $19/ hr
