Your Vision:
- You lead the design, implementation and monitoring of our DEI strategic plan, establishing goals, metrics, and assessments to create a culture of inclusion and belonging.
- You develop overall long- and short-term DEIB goals that directly link to Anythink’s vision to be a place where people are happy, healthy, safe and smart.
- You collaborate with various departments to integrate DEIB principles into organizational policies and practices.
- You and your team work with Brand Strategy to create and deliver extraordinary communications supporting Anythink’s DEIB mission and values.
- You plan, develop and implement DEIB activities such as trainings, workshops, events and communication for our staff.
- You are an outreach pro- ensuring that our community engagement efforts are developed and assessed through an equity lens and are reflective of the diverse perspectives, cultures, and needs of our community.
- You oversee and advance Anythink’s initiative to foster a staff culture of inclusion and belonging, including establishing and facilitating employee resource groups
- You are a part of the Anythink leadership team, being the champion and advocate for DEIB, both internally and externally, driving awareness, commitment and accountability.
- You are a natural mediator, leading conversations among leadership and staff on culturally sensitive issues.
- You are an active listener, understanding the different perspectives of DEIB topics, and know when to involve managers, HR and legal resources
- You are an advocate, serving as a spokesperson on DEIB and Community Engagement matters both within and outside the organization.
- You love to be in front of people, representing the library to the community, and participating in publicity, community relations and special events.
- You are passionate about Anythink’s mission and share your enthusiasm with diverse communities and stakeholders.
- You understand the power of collaboration and have a knack for building relationships with key players to support DEIB and Community Engagement related initiatives.
- You understand how to initiate, plan and conduct community outreach services at a variety of locations, to include businesses, organizations and other community events.
- You oversee the planning, implementation, and management of Anythink’s initiatives to reach the community in new ways, such as mobile outreach, hold lockers, and express libraries.
- You are curious about what types of innovative programs and events can be offered in non-library locations.
- You understand the importance of policies, procedures and work standards for library community engagement activities and make recommendations for improved service delivery.
- You understand the importance of qualitative and quantitative details and how they can tell a story

Do You Have What It Takes?
- You have 7+ years of experience in DEIB, community engagement, or a related field with a least 5 years in a leadership role.
- You have been an integral part of a business, library, or nonprofit organization’s success story.
- You have a bachelor’s degree; a master’s degree is preferred.
- You have a deep understanding of DEIB principles, practices and legal requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, adapt to changing priorities, and meet deadlines in a high-speed environment.
- You are tech-savvy. You are computer literate, and possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, as well as searching and navigating online resources.

Your job will involve being active in our libraries: You may be asked to stand, walk, crouch, stoop, squat, twist, climb, push/pull up to 50 pounds, and lift up to 25 pounds.
