Role:
Performs facility maintenance work related to electrical, plumbing, painting, drywall repair, carpentry, landscaping, heating and cooling.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
65% - FACILITIES MAINTENANCE – Inspects, maintains, monitors, and repairs building systems and equipment including plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling, paint, walls, carpets, shelving, furniture, signage, and lighting in accordance with blueprints, manual, maintenance schedules, and building codes in order to keep facilities operating and attractive. (Essential)
15% - GROUNDS MAINTENANCE – Inspects grounds, waters shrubs and trees, sprays weeds, picks up trash and debris, shovels snow and applies ice melt, empties trash containers and other various tasks in order to keep the grounds and exteriors of the facilities attractive and safe. (Essential)
10% - CLEANING – Vacuums, sweeps, mops, scrubs, polishes, shampoos, washes, and dusts surfaces including floors, furniture, restrooms, drinking fountains, windows, walls, screens, and office equipment in the library in order to keep the appearance and cleanliness to expectations in between custodial staff shifts. (Essential)
5% - SUBCONTRACTOR ASSISTANCE – Assists and monitors subcontracted work such as plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling, landscaping; and provides warranty and punch list follow up and occupancy feedback in order to ensure contracted work is completed and performed to expectations. (Essential)
5% - OTHER DUTIES – Tracks and responds to work order requests, monitors and trains community service workers, moves furniture and other equipment/objects, hangs signs and other various labor and lifting tasks, responds to building emergencies on evenings and weekends, maintains contact information in Safety Manual, and generates reports and maintains maintenance records in order to ensure the smooth operation of the facilities and department. Minimum Requirements:
Education:
High School Diploma (or GED) and relevant experience
Experience:
Proficiency in multiple types of maintenance work in electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, landscaping, and mechanical systems.
Knowledge of the safe and correct use of custodial equipment and cleaning supplies.
Valid Driver’s License and good driving record
Personal vehicle
