Job Description

About Us:
Join the dynamic team at the City and County of Broomfield Library, Arts, History, and CSU Extension Department, where innovation, collaboration, and a commitment to community thrive. Our goal is to create an inclusive and welcoming environment that fosters learning, growth, and connection for all members of our community.

The Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, forward-thinking Adult Services Supervisor (Librarian II) to lead our Adult Services team and oversee the operations of our library’s Adult Services area. This is a high-impact role where you’ll inspire your team, implement innovative services, and ensure a welcoming and enriching space for our patrons. You’ll also play a critical part in shaping our library’s future by contributing to department-wide leadership and strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaboration: Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve department goals and meet the evolving needs of the community.
  • Data-Informed Decision-Making: Analyze patron data and trends to guide decisions and improve services in the Adult Services area.
  • Policy & Communication: Help create, review, and implement library policies and procedures. Engage with the community and represent the library at public meetings and events.
  • Technology & Resources: Oversee public technology services, troubleshoot digital resources, and ensure optimal functionality of public computers, printing systems, and Wi-Fi.
  • Programming & Outreach: Collaborate with library leadership and other teams to develop, implement, and evaluate annual programming goals. Lead efforts to maintain engaging adult programming and community outreach initiatives.
  • Service Excellence: Ensure exceptional patron service by providing training in areas such as reference services, technology support, de-escalation, and enforcement of the library’s Code of Conduct.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, coach, and empower the Adult Services team and staff at the Information Desk. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that aligns with our healthy workplace culture initiatives.

About You:

You’re an empathetic and innovative leader who is passionate about library services and committed to creating a welcoming space for all. You thrive in a collaborative environment, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on problem-solving. Your strong communication and organizational skills enable you to manage competing priorities effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Library Science or a related field.
  • Comfort with technology and data analysis to inform decision-making.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
  • Strong knowledge of reference services, library programming, and digital resources.
  • Proven ability to manage teams, budgets, and projects.
  • 4 years of library experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.

Our Culture: We are committed to fostering a healthy workplace culture built on kindness, empathy, accountability, and collaboration. As a team, we:

  • Celebrate our successes and prioritize joy in our work.
  • Focus on learning, growth, and forward-thinking solutions.
  • Extend grace to ourselves and others.
  • Embrace direct and solution-oriented feedback.
  • Practice gratitude and compassion.

Why Join Us? At the City and County of Broomfield, we’re not just a workplace—we’re a community. From celebrating milestones to organizing team-building activities, we’re committed to creating an environment where you can thrive both professionally and personally. This position also offers the flexibility of working from home up to one day per week.

Working Conditions:
