Job Description

Colorado Heights University Librarian Small Independent and International University Job Description •Maintain library collections of books, serial publications, documents, audiovisual, and other materials, and assist groups and individuals in locating and obtaining materials: Furnishes information on library activities, facilities, rules, and services. •Describe or demonstrate procedures for searching catalog files online. Search catalog files and shelves to locate information. •Issue and receive materials for circulation or for use in library. •Assemble and arrange displays of books and other library materials. •Maintain reference and circulation materials. •Answer correspondence on special reference subjects. •Select, order, catalog, and classify materials . •Prepare or assist in preparation of budget. •Plan and direct special projects involving library promotion and outreach activity •Encourage the students for reading and using library resources. •Make library an interesting place for students by making them understand importance of a library. •Help the students to use the information in electronic forms. •Arrange special programs to teach students to use the catalogs, computer database, index to periodicals, etc.

Qualifications Master's degree in Library Science (MLS) Supervisory skills, good communication skills, public relation, organizational skills, customer service skills and computer skills are all necessary Experience working with Local History and Rare Archives Experience working with ILS, Catalog, OPAC, computers and educational technology Experience in collection shifting, weeding and collection development Entry Level Position
