The Langworthy Public Library Board of Trustees is seeking a Library Director of Services. The Langworthy Library is a private non-profit organization open 33 hours weekly from Monday- Saturday. Required hours (28-32) including some evenings and/ or weekend shifts. Hourly rate commensurate with experience. Benefits include vacation and holiday pay.
Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Library or Information Science from an ALA accredited school
3-5 years professional library experience
Strong interpersonal/communication skills
Leadership and/or supervisory experience
Ability to create forward thinking programming for all ages
Willingness to obtain Notary license
As the spokesperson for the library, the Director will demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills with patrons, community organizations, and in meetings, including frequent and open communication with the Board of Trustees. The Director will also have a high degree of initiative and resourcefulness, as well as the ability to exercise independent judgement in decision making and problem solving.
Director is responsible for all aspects of library operations, including but not limited to:
Staff scheduling, supervision and evaluation
Collection development and management
Budget development and managing expenditures
Writing and implementing grants
Overseeing facilities and reporting issues to the board of trustees
Maintaining website and social media presence
Preparing and filing reports with OLIS, federal, state, and municipal agencies
