Job Description

The University of Colorado at Boulder is seeking applications for Program Assistant I - assistant to the Associate Director for Administrative Services of University LIbraries. Nature of Work: This position assists the Associate Director for Administrative Services in all facets of his duties. This position is responsible for the following duties: arranges and coordinates meetings for the Associate Director for Administrative Services and many other Libraries committees; develops policies and procedures for the collection, organization, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of Libraries statistical and assessment data; is responsible for independent decisions regarding sensitive and confidential personnel materials connected with faculty evaluations and salary awards and guides the Faculty Personnel Committee, the Tenure Committee, and the associate director in all aspects of campus communications with the Office of Faculty Affairs regarding faculty promotion and tenure with Faculty Affairs; advises the chairs of the Tenure Committee and the Faculty Personnel Committee to assure efficient, accurate completion of faculty reappointments, comprehensive reviews, tenure reviews, post-tenure reviews, and salary increases; assesses and communicates pertinent faculty personnel issues to the associate director for administrative services; and independently determines due dates of the various faculty governance committees for annual evaluations, reappointments, and comprehensive reviews and notifies in writing all those involved.

Minimum Requirements: Four years of general clerical or administrative service experience, which includes at least one year of experience in executive assistance/ scheduling. Conditions of Employment: Must successfully pass a criminal history background check. Highly Desirable Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills along with a professional level working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The preferred candidate will have previous work experience in a higher education setting and will possess excellent interpersonal skills to easily work with colleagues including faculty and staff as well as library patrons. Substitution: College, university, or non-correspondence business school course work may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the general experience but not for the specific year of experience. **Please Note: If education is used to meet the minimum requirements, you must submit a transcript copy by the closing date.** Exam Schedule: Applicants will be notified of the time, date, place, and type of examination required.
