Job Description

Requisition #: 2034943 Contractor Position for July & August 2010 As the Cataloger for the eBusiness team within the Life Sciences and Chemical Analysis division, you will be a part of a global team responsible for the publishing and management of Agilent content assets. In this role you will be directly responsible for the classification of on-line content supporting Agilent customers, partners and sales teams. In this role, you will work with the eBusiness team and Business stake holders to insure consistent and accurate metadata and product hierarchy taxonomy application to support Agilent content information retrieval strategies. - Review existing content to normalize classifications to support improved findability. - Apply consistent classifications to new content to create and maintain - Create documentation on the application of classification terms Responsibilities include: - Improve the retrievability of content for Agilent customers, Partners and sales teams through the correct application of metadata to existing and newly created content. - Perform Agilent Product /Industry Hierarchy manual cleanup activities associated with Hierarchy corrections. - Collection and management of metadata application rules Job Title : eLibrary Cataloger Primary State/Province : Colorado Primary Town/City : Loveland Shift : Day Job Schedule : Full-time Travel Required : Yes, 10% of the Time

Skills: - Significant experience with cataloging in a Life Sciences library setting - Experience with CMS systems/application of supporting metadata - Significant experience with either AACR2, MARC and/or OCLC - Understanding of Dublin Core - Experience working directly with applications of integrated library systems - Superior oral and written communication skills - LIS degree preferred.
