Job Description

Electronic Resources Librarian The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Health Sciences Library (HSL) seeks an energetic, innovative, service-oriented Electronic Resources Librarian (ERL). The successful candidate will manage the access, maintenance, and preservation of information resources in digital format. The position also manages the small print journal title collection. Supervision: Reporting to the library’s Head of Collection Management, the ERL supervises .5 FTE and may also oversee the work of students, volunteers, or other staff on committee work, specific projects, or as requested. The ERL is expected to assume personal responsibility for designing and implementing a plan for continuing professional development and to actively contribute to the development of health sciences librarianship through scholarly and service activities. Major responsibilities: •Act as the point person for monitoring and troubleshooting access issues for the library’s electronic resources. •Communicate with vendors of library resources on behalf of the library. •Maintain electronic resources management system which details vendor contacts, consortium agreements, usage statistics, licensing terms, and other account and subscription information. •Ensure accuracy of library’s holdings in the DOCLINE SERHOLD system. •Supervise the library’s digitization projects. •Assist the Head of Collection Management in evaluating vendors and resources. •Work with the library IT Department to resolve access problems for electronic resources. •Manage the library’s small print journal subscriptions. •Maintain documentation of policies and procedures. •Solicit, maintain and distribute use data for electronic resources. •Provide statistical and narrative reports as requested. •Participate in library-wide activities, such as serving on library committees and task forces. •Participate in professional development and service activities. •Participate in library’s liaison program.

The salary level begins at $48,000 and is based on qualifications and experience. The University of Colorado offers a full benefits package. This is a non-tenured track faculty position with rank of Senior Instructor or Assistant Professor commensurate with experience.•Experience in an academic, research, or health sciences library. •Two years of experience with the Serials, Cataloging, or Acquisitions module in the Innovative Interfaces, Inc. (III) system. •Experience with Serials Solutions 360 Resource Manager. •Experience managing proxy server resource tables. •Experience with project management. The Community

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus (AMC) includes the Schools of Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, and Public Health, the College of Nursing, the Graduate School, and the University of Colorado Hospital. Located at the crossroads of the AMC and the Colorado Science & Technology Park, this $35 million, state-of-the-art library opened in October 2007. Coordinating and providing access to information in support of learning, research, clinical care and service to the community, the library is the physical and digital hub of knowledge on the campus. The HSL provides the largest collection of health sciences information resources in Colorado with a digital collection of more than 30,000 online journals, hundreds of electronic textbooks, and online databases.
