Job Description

Primary Responsibility

Under the direction of the Associate Dean of Library Services with a dotted line reporting relationship with the Campus Vice President or designee, the Learning Commons Coordinator and Open Educational Resources (OER)/Cataloging Librarian serves a dual role overseeing college-wide initiatives around the adoption of Open Educational Resources (OER), and ensuring the accuracy and accessibility of library cataloging as well as overseeing operations of a campus Learning Commons. This position will serve the Learning Commons by offering innovative services in learning resources support, technologically enhanced learning spaces for students, staff, faculty, and community members, tutoring services, food services functions, and testing.

This position has responsibilities to fulfill the college mission to serve and elevate the economic, social, cultural, and environmental vitality of its beautiful Rocky Mountain region by welcoming all learners through its doors, delivering highly relevant education and training and serving as a trusted partner for strategic collaboration and innovation.

This role serves both the public and campus communities, including students, staff, and faculty. The coordinator supervises, assesses, trains, and collaborates with students, faculty, and staff so that they can provide exemplary learning services to enhance student success.

Pre-requisites for Position (Qualifications Standards)

Education and experience sufficient for the rigors of the position. Examples include a master’s degree and five years related experience; bachelor’s degree and seven years related experience or equivalent education and experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the functions of the position.

Strong knowledge of cataloging standards (e.g., AACR2, RDA) and library classification systems (e.g., Library of Congress Classification, Dewey Decimal Classification) is preferred.

The ideal candidate will have professional experience in an academic library setting as well as experience with library cataloging/metadata, library instruction, and working with open educational resources. The candidate will demonstrate excitement and enthusiasm for the Learning Commons model and have supervisory experience as well as excellent collaboration and communication skills.

Hiring range = $68,944.78 - $76,605.31 annual salary depending upon a combination of education and experience. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Pet insurance, retirement contribution, tuition reimbursement, annual & sick time, mental health resources, healthy lifestyle benefits, affordable transitional housing may be available to the successful candidate based on eligibility and availability, relocation if applicable. CMC utilizes a wage progression compensation model that accounts for a candidate’s skill and experience. Although a salary range is listed, salary will be set commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.
