In this pivotal position, you will oversee Koelbel Library in Centennial-and lead two vital district-wide departments: ALD Answers, (our virtual call center) and the Supporting Library Specialist team. You'll shape services that are inclusive, responsive, and community-driven while mentoring staff and guiding operations with vision and care.
About the Role
The Library Manager role is ideal for someone who moves fluidly between strategic planning and operational delivery. You'll lead Koelbel Library-a highly utilized regional branch serving families, students, retirees, professionals, and neighbors from an adjacent assisted living facility-while also managing:
- The ALD Answers Team, who work remotely to support patrons and manage meeting room services.
- The Supporting Library Specialist Team, a flexible, district-wide group that fills staffing needs across all locations.
Success in this role depends on your ability to foster collaboration, build shared purpose across diverse teams, and balance immediate needs with long-term goals.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic and Operational Leadership
- Set direction and priorities for library branches and departments.
- Collaborate with staff, stakeholders, and the community to shape responsive, inclusive services.
- Ensure alignment with district strategy while fostering innovation and improvement.
- Team Management and Development
- Lead a cross-functional team of supervisors and librarians.
- Promote strong internal relationships, effective communication, and continuous learning.
- Provide steady, supportive leadership during periods of change.
Project Management
- Lead and contribute to district-wide projects that impact service, access, and engagement.
- Define goals, manage cross-team coordination, and monitor implementation.
Resource and Budget Coordination
- Support planning and manage a $4 million operational budget and up to $5 million in capital projects.
- Forecast staffing and operational needs to ensure consistency and quality across all services.

Qualifications
Required:
- At least five years of supervisory or management experience in a library setting
- Master's in Library and Information Science (MLIS/MLS), or enrollment within six months and completion within three years (or 10+ years library service experience with commitment to complete MLIS/MLS within two years)
- Demonstrated success in hiring, coaching, and evaluating team members
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and digital collaboration tools
- Flexibility to work onsite and remotely
- Ability to provide support on evenings, weekends, and travel between locations as needed
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to inclusive leadership and continuous improvement
Preferred:
- Two or more years of experience in project management
- Experience with budget management and financial planning
- Background in training, mentoring, or organizational development
