Job Description

The Mesa Public Library is seeking an experienced and dynamic Library Branch Coordinator II to lead operations at our Red Mountain Branch. This leadership role is the bridge between the Red Mountain branch team and Library Administration.  The ideal candidate has prior experience managing a library branch, strong budgeting and project management skills, and a passion for mentorship and team development.  We are looking for a leader with a deep love for libraries, a commitment to public service, and the ability to foster innovation and engagement.  This position plays a key role in shaping library services, supporting the growth of Mesa Public Library, and providing exceptional service to the Mesa community.

A Library Branch Coordinator II is responsible for managing the operations of a large regional branch library.  Duties include:  selecting, training, supervising, and evaluating subordinate supervisors and staff; preparing and monitoring a budget; overseeing all service areas of a branch (Circulation, Shelving, Adult Services, and Youth Services); overseeing building and grounds maintenance activities; coordinating operations with outside maintenance contractors, cleaning services, etc.; coordinating activities with other Library sections and City departments; and short- and long-range planning for future development.  This class performs related duties as required.

This class is distinguished from the Library Branch Coordinator I class by the responsibility of managing the operations of a large regional branch library with greater number of staff and greater number of patrons. Nights and weekends may be required. This class is supervised by the Library Director or Assistant Library Director. This class is FLSA exempt-executive.
