This is a hybrid position requiring on-site attendance at our Colorado Springs campus in Colorado at least one day per week. Please note that this schedule is subject to change based on business needs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- This position may require availability to work evening and weekend shifts to meet the needs of students and academic programming.
- Provide comprehensive support for all initiatives under the Embedded Librarian Program.
- Develop and conduct virtual instruction sessions, workshops, and webinars on basic information literacy, digital literacy, and AI literacy skills.
- Conduct one-on-one virtual sessions with students to support their academic success, focusing on basic research techniques, curricular resource utilization, and digital literacy.
- Provide accessible and timely reference services to students, faculty, and staff via Messenger, email, phone, video conferencing software, and LibChat.
- Provide basic academic writing guidance, APA formatting instruction, and strategies for avoiding plagiarism; serve as a university APA expert.
- Participate in the creation and maintenance of asynchronous library materials, including tutorial videos, LibGuides, and handouts.
- Maintain professional, compassionate, and student-centered communication while supporting adult learners from a variety of backgrounds.
- Provide comprehensive support and instruction for citation management software, including EndNote.
- Act as a moderator and co-presenter for sessions at Doctoral Symposium.
- Contribute to departmental assessment activities and data collection initiatives.
- Collaborate with Librarians and the Learning Solutions team to enhance and support library resources, services, and projects across the organization.
- Maintain expertise in general library services and tasks, and cover responsibilities in the absence of other Library Services Associates as needed.
- Provide basic support for institutional and organizational research and scholarly activities.
- Refer students to appropriate teams and resources (e.g., advising, tutoring, learning centers, faculty, and career services).
- Facilitate Interlibrary Loan Services.
- Contribute to reviewing and updating departmental SOPs and policies as needed.
- Ensure compliance with copyright policies and serve as a university resource on copyright matters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required from a regionally accredited institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (or international equivalent).
- 2+ years working in a customer service role.
- Master’s Degree (preferred)
- Experience with instruction and/or tutoring (preferred)
- Experience developing asynchronous learning materials (preferred)
