Hiring Pay range: $50,000 to $55,700 per year DOE

Job Type: Full-time; exempt; benefited

Job description:

You are dynamic, forward-thinking, and passionate about connecting people with ideas and technology. You design amazing experiences for our library customers that help them express their creativity and explore their interests. Whether leading a group in the metaverse or working one-on-one in person, you are a natural mentor and educator, empowering individuals with the tools and knowledge they need to grow. You've got everything it takes to manage projects, deadlines, events and ideas with a winning style and assurance. As a member of the Support Services team, you lead and collaborate with staff throughout the district to create innovative, engaging experiences for Anythink World and The Studio that will keep our customers coming back for more.

Ready to join in a bold opportunity to help us take community library services to an entirely new dynamic realm?

Who you are:

  • You're energized by the opportunity to grow and adapt in an ever-evolving world, driven by a visionary mindset and a passion for exploring emerging tools and new ways of interaction in the metaverse and with creative technologies.
  • You are an active listener, intuitive to people's needs, and eager to explore new ideas driven by customer interest.
  • You naturally build connections and foster relationships by recognizing opportunities and bringing people together in meaningful ways.
  • You engage well with others and are passionate about providing an exemplary experience to customers of all ages.
  • You're a team player who thinks quickly on your feet.
  • You take the initiative, working independently and with others.
  • You approach customers with patience, understanding, and compassion, taking time to guide them through new experiences with care.
  • You inspire fun in the people around you.

A position you'll love:

  • You are an explorer of the metaverse; you guide and assist customers in navigating Anythink World, showcasing its features, functionalities, and potential for creative expression and learning.
  • You create and conduct engaging programs, presentations, workshops, and participatory experiences for customers of all ages, with a focus on Anythink World, the library's metaverse platform.
  • You assist customers and staff in The Studio and at pop-up events with a wide range of tools and technologies, such as Canva, 3D printers, laser engravers, DSLR cameras, Photoshop, and sewing machines.
  • You are a wizard at troubleshooting technical issues, from Windows laptops to specialized equipment.
  • You enjoy meeting and inspiring people, offering personalized recommendations, and fostering a welcoming library environment both in person and virtually.
  • You take on leadership responsibilities, including person in charge, staff trainer, and mentor, fostering a supportive environment for learning and collaboration, including working with vendors.
  • You make connections in our community both digitally and in person, presenting workshops and serving as a liaison to committees, schools, or other task forces.
  • You demonstrate big-picture thinking, jumping in to help where needed, and collaborating effectively with the team, especially under pressure.
  • You are a continuous learner, working to develop personal mastery in your favorite creative or scientific fields through informal learning, work experience, and professional development.
  • You design, deliver, and document "how-to" training for customers and staff on navigating and utilizing Anythink World, as well as makerspace equipment and software.
  • You effectively manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing needs with flexibility.
  • You are a genius at analyzing metrics, contributing to daily reflections, and tracking statistics to improve library services.
  • You enjoy being part of a team and contributing to collaborative efforts, from setting up events to cleaning up afterward
  • You act as a connector between Anythink World, The Studio, and the Community Engagement team, representing the Studio or Anythink World at outreach events.
  • You proactively share ideas on district committees and take a leadership role in implementing them.
  • You demonstrate integrity in all decisions and actions, upholding ethical standards.

Do you have what it takes?

  • You have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • You have experience developing and presenting project-based or skill-building programs for all ages.
  • You have experience creating online content like hosting a livestream on Twitch, posting videos to YouTube or TikTok, or developing your own Roblox experience.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, adapt flexibly to changing priorities, and meet deadlines in a high-speed environment.
  • You are tech savvy. You have a working knowledge of Adobe Suite, 3D Design, and can move around in the metaverse using a keyboard and mouse.
  • Spanish-speaking candidates desired.
