The Department of Library Services at Red Rocks Community College (RRCC) seeks a dedicated and student-centered Library Instruction Assistant to support library instruction, research services, and general operations at both the Lakewood and Arvada campuses. Reporting to the Instruction Librarian, this position plays an integral role in advancing information literacy and fostering a welcoming, inclusive learning environment. Key responsibilities include teaching library instruction sessions across various disciplines, providing responsive research assistance to students, faculty, and staff across multiple modalities (in-person, email, phone, Zoom, and IM), and collaborating on the development of instructional materials and assessment tools.
The Library Instruction Assistant also helps coordinate daily tasks for student employees and contributes to special projects, outreach, and event support as needed. This is a temporary, part-time, non-exempt position, working 18-24 hours per week for a maximum of 9 months, depending on institutional need and budget availability. This position has been exempted from the State Classified System.
The work schedule is flexible within library hours (Monday–Thursday, 8 a.m.–7 p.m.; Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.; Saturday shifts may be available).
