Arapahoe Libraries is seeking a Technology Specialist to help patrons access, navigate and troubleshoot technology with confidence. You'll provide compassionate, one-on-one assistance that supports learning, inclusion, and digital equity across our library system.
This role focuses on community technology support, collaborative troubleshooting, and 3D printing services. You'll help ensure the best tech help our community can receive is at our libraries, free of charge.
About the Role
Each day, you'll be assigned to one of our library branches to provide in-person and email support for a wide range of technology questions from patrons. We'll fully train you on managing the 3D printing service and on maintaining and troubleshooting district hardware and software. You'll collaborate with your fellow Technology Specialists and branch staff via chat to provide consistent, district-wide tech support.
Our patrons come from all backgrounds and skill levels. You'll play a key role in supporting their digital confidence while maintaining a respectful, inclusive public service environment. Arapahoe Libraries encourages its staff to set appropriate boundaries with the public, which makes for a more positive and sustainable experience in a public-facing role.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver Patron Technology Support
- Provide one-on-one assistance and teaching/education with laptops, mobile devices, software, apps, and more
- Walk patrons through tech solutions to build their confidence and understanding
- Offer inclusive, welcoming support for users of all identities and experience levels
Maintain and Support Tech Services
- Manage and fulfill 3D print service requests (full training will be provided)
- Respond to and troubleshoot technology issues across library systems
- Seek out creative, collaborative solutions even when facing new challenges
Collaborate Across Locations
- Coordinate daily with your team using virtual tools
- Work independently while contributing positively to a supportive team culture
- Navigate a flexible schedule and travel between 7 locations as needed
Champion a Positive Public Service Environment
- Demonstrate patience, kindness, and professionalism in all interactions
- Support a team culture that values learning, equity, and camaraderie

Qualifications
Required:
- One year of technology-related experience
- One year of customer service or teaching experience
- Demonstrated intermediate aptitude for technology and troubleshooting
- Patience and aptitude for working with patrons of all backgrounds and skill levels
- Ability to find answers to unfamiliar issues through research and collaboration
- Positive contributor and supportive team member
- Ability to work Tuesday - Saturday, with Sunday/Monday off
Scheduling Requirements
The schedule for this position is Tuesday through Saturday, with Sunday and Monday off.
Preferred:
- Proficiency in Spanish, Russian, or Arabic
- Experience working in a library or education setting

Established in 1966, the Arapahoe Library District serves more than 200,000 residents living in Arapahoe County. Arapahoe County and other major suburban counties make up the greater metropolitan area surrounding Denver, Colorado. The Arapahoe Library District operates eight branch libraries, including mobile library services, and a library at the County Detention Center, funded by the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Department. A seven-member Board of Trustees sets the library budget and determines policy.
