Garfield County Public Library District (District) is seeking a highly collaborative, creative, and community-focused Youth Services Coordinator to join our Glenwood Springs Branch Library team. This position plays a key role in delivering high-quality youth services, with a primary focus on early literacy, elementary-age children, and tween programming and services. The Youth Services Coordinator will work closely with the branch's Teen Library Associate, sharing ideas, coordinating services, and partnering to ensure teens have engaging programs, collections, and opportunities that meet their unique needs. Success in this role requires a strong ability to communicate effectively, support colleagues, contribute positively to a team culture, and collaborate across departments and throughout the District to create outstanding experiences for youth and families.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary range - actual placement dependent on experience and qualifications:
- Hiring salary range (MLIS): $27.73 - $30.57/hr; full salary range: $27.73 - $35.39/hr;
- Hiring salary range (non-MLIS): $25.75 - $28.39; full salary range: $25.75 – $32.86/hr;

Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least four years of experience educating children or working in youth development programs or initiatives.
Preferred:
- Library experience.
- Experience working with teens.
- MLS or MLIS degree.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish or another language.

Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Plan and deliver dynamic early literacy programs, storytimes, and learning experiences for children and their caregivers.
- Develop innovative programs and services for school-age children and tweens.
- Collaborate with the Teen Associate to support teen programming, collections, outreach, and services.
- Build relationships with schools, community organizations, educators, and families through outreach and partnerships.
- Educate caregivers about early literacy practices and child development.
- Participate in District-wide youth services initiatives and special events.
- Provide exceptional customer service and reader's advisory support to patrons of all ages.
