The Greenville Public Library is seeking a part-time Reference Assistant.
Responsibilities:

Provide reference and reader’s advisory services to patrons
-
Provide direct assistance to patrons using the public computers
-
Assist patrons in locating, checking out, and returning materials
-
Assist patrons in accessing digital resources including ebooks and databases
-
Provide one-on-one technology instruction sessions
-
Assist with print and digital marketing efforts
-
Create monthly book displays for adults
-
Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director and/or Director
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree required
-
Previous library experience required
-
Experience with Koha, Aspen Discovery preferred
-
Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a customer service capacity
-
Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds
-
Ability to work interdepartmentally

Schedule flexibility preferred

Ability to troubleshoot technology issues, including devices and equipment in-house and with patron devices

Driven to work on a team as well as independently on assigned projects

Hours:
20 hours per week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday.
Compensation: $20/hour
