This position provides four basic technical functions for library services at the US EPA Region 8 Technical Library: reference service for EPA staff and the public, promotion of the library’s services and collection, Interlibrary Loan service, and collection maintenance. The desired results are: support of EPA staff research, support of public inquires about the environment, patron awareness of library holdings and services, efficient Interlibrary Loan service, and a collection of current environmental resources, traditional and electronic. MLS from an accredited institution, be proficient in Microsoft office programs and other computer software, be comfortable teaching and speaking to groups of patrons, and have excellent organizational and communication skills. A knowledge of science and environmental issues is preferred, but not required. Experience in conducting legal research and knowledge of social media tools for special libraries would be a plus.
