Job DescriptionThis is an exciting new position responsible for supervising the daily operation of the Knott's Kids Program developing and maintaining program partnerships; planning and implementing interactive programs; and participating in community activities. Recommends materials for purchase based on patron needs and interests; assists and instructs patrons in accessing library resources; creates a positive, inviting atmosphere for children and adults; maintains records and files; collects and analyzes statistics; prepares reports; monitors budget lines as relevant; and develops instructional tools, databases and reader advisory materials for use by staff and patrons. Participates in staff meetings, library committees and task forces. Maintains an awareness of children's services through intermittently scheduled desk time at the children's information desks in the libraries. This position reports to the Manager of the Online & Outreach Library.

Requires a Master's degree in Library or Information Science with two years of experience including supervisory and/or program development experience. Experience with children and children's literature, event planning, outreach program development and fluency in Spanish desirable. Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle record. Must be flexible to work occasional minor holidays.
