Job Description
Status/Schedule: Limited term, full-time, 40 hours per week. The schedule will be determined by the needs of the department and will include evening and weekend hours. This is a fully benefited temporary position that will end on or before December 31, 2011 with potential for longer employment. Salary Range: $32.76 - $42.52 per hour starting salary range;$32.76 - $52.27 per hour full salary range. The City and County of Denver benefit package will be offered. Duties and Responsibilities: Performs full performance-level professional work analyzing, refining and documenting the business requirements of the Library’s customers included in the development, implementation and production of integrated technology software systems. Creates functional and technical specifications for systems to meet business requirements while ensuring the integrity of the technical design process. Serves as the end-to-end authoritative technical resource on the business requirements and information needs of customer departments and agencies in all phases of the application and system development life cycles. Coordinates pilot and roll out planning, user enhancement requests and defect tracking. Develops project plans, guides projects and reports status updates as directed by the IT Manager. Provides leadership and collaborative direction to the System Administration team. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of principles and methods to identify, analyze, specify and design technology solutions that meet the client's functional requirements, including translating functional requirements into technical requirements. Knowledge of architectural methodologies for information systems or applications design and development. Knowledge of database management systems and their application. Skill in using trouble shooting and trace tools to resolve production issues. Skill in mapping business processes and comparing them to industry best practices. Ability to creatively problem-solve, negotiate and handle stressful situations in a positive manner. Ability to create and maintain positive staff relationships. Ability to communicate effectively with both individuals and groups. Ability to multi-task and prioritize. Ability to demonstrate innovation and flexibility.
