Job Description

Primary duties include: • Provide reference, referral, research and reader's advisory assistance to all ages of patrons in person and on the telephone • Participate in annual activities such as tax season and summer reading programs • Participate in staff meetings, committee and other meetings and task forces, including serving as a member of the Teen Advocates Round Table Secondary duties include: • Review, evaluate and recommend materials for purchase and withdrawal from the collection with special emphasis on the management of young adult materials • Initiate and develop ongoing programming for adults and young adults • Lead a Teen Advisory Board • Work with community partners that focus on young adults to present programs and other services outside of the library • Supervise daily room operations and be responsible for the general appearance and safety of the young adult area.

Additional Info & Requirements

The successful candidate will have familiarity with Web 2.0 and social networking concepts and uses in library settings.Must be able to work some evenings, weekends and minor holidays.
