Job Description

Reporting to the Head Public Services Librarian of the John U. Tomlinson Library, this new position provides traditional and virtual reference services and advances information literacy across the undergraduate curriculum. In collaboration with departmental faculty, the librarian will design instructional materials and teach and promote information literacy within an outcomes assessment and skills-based model. This person will work with other instruction librarians implementing a multi-faceted instruction program and will provide high-quality, innovative and user-oriented reference and instruction services to a diverse body of faculty, staff and on-campus and distant students.

Additional Info & Requirements

Requirements include an ALA-accredited Master’s Degree; knowledge of national standards and guidelines for information literacy instruction; reference and instruction experience; knowledge of information sources and information literacy practices; knowledge of and experience with instructional technology. Preferred qualifications include excellent written and oral communication skills; three years experience providing reference and instructional services in an academic library; demonstrated success in teaching.
