Children’s Librarian Librarian I Mesa County Libraries Grand Junction, Colorado Mesa County Public Library, located in Grand Junction, just 28 miles east of the Utah border at the junction of the Colorado and Gunnison Rivers, has a Librarian I (Children’s Services) opening for an energetic, customer-focused individual to join our team. Mesa County Public Library seeks a creative thinker to join our Children’s Services team on the Western Slope. Responsibilities include collection and program development, assisting customers at the children’s information desk, and using library resources, such as online databases and the Internet for reference and reader's advisory. The library serves the entire county of over 124,000 residents with a central library and seven branches. Our annual circulation is over 700,000 and approximately 1,600 people use our services daily. In this friendly and collaborative environment of 70 plus employees, the district library board and management encourage continuing education and provide for staff development and participation in professional organizations. The ideal candidate possesses a professional approach to working with library customers and other staff members, a willingness to work in a team environment, and an ability to adjust to multiple demands and rapid change while demonstrating adaptability and openness. An ALA accredited Master's Degree in Library Science is required, and library experience is desirable. May 2007 or recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Why Grand Junction?
