Job Description
Job Description The library assistant, under the direction of the Librarian, provides testing services (HESI, TEAS Accuplacer, CLEP, ACCA, proctored class examines) to all members of the University community. Report testing usage statistics for all tests administered. Assists students and faculty at the information desk as needed. Job Functions Ensures that all students receive outstanding customer service. Responsible for greeting candidates, verifying their identification, and supervising test administration following established test proctoring guidelines and rules established for each test. Maintains a working knowledge of policies, practices and procedures for all tests administered. Maintain confidentiality for students. Creates and reports all testing statistics. Processes and administered test for students. Provides backup at information desk for assisting student, faculty and staff. Self-directed including the ability to meet report deadlines with time constraints. Submits all work orders for the library. Required Skills While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Most functions are performed in a library office environment. Frequent interaction with customers in person, as well as through the telephone and email, requires effective verbal and written communication. May be sitting for up to six hours a day. Frequent use of computer keyboards requires normal manual dexterity. Position requires frequent sitting and standing with frequent travel to other parts of the facility. Occasional moderate lifting (up to 20 pounds) required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Required Experience Associates Degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Knowledge of the entire Microsoft Office Suite necessary. Recent experience in a library a plus. Ability to handle mutliple students engaged in various tasks at one time. Strong customer service and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively as a part of a team with students, staff and faculty.Additional Info & Requirements
