Job Description

The Garfield County Public Library District is seeking a skilled and self-motivated individual to serve in a new position of Digital Services Librarian. Based in our offices at the new Rifle Branch Library in Rifle, CO, this position requires a team player that can manage the District’s virtual services including our Drupal web site, databases, and e-resources while leading staff training and implementation of new digital services. This is a FLSA exempt position with a minimum of 40 hours work week, involving occasional weekends and evenings. An ALA accredited Masters in Library and/or Information Science is required. Minimum of 3 years of library experience is required; up to 2 years of related digital services and web development experience is preferred. Hiring range is $41,600-$52,000 annually (DOQ) plus benefits. Resumes, cover letters and an application must be submitted by February 28, 2012. The Community

Garfield County includes the towns of Carbondale, Glenwood Springs, New Castle, Silt, Rifle and Parachute. About 25 minutes west of Glenwood Springs, Rifle is a rural community of about 10,000 people with agriculture, education, green energy and the oil and gas industry. It is located along the Colorado River and I-70 corridor about 3 hours west of Denver. The area is filled with outdoor recreational opportunities including skiing, kayaking, biking, hiking, snow shoeing and much more all about an hour from Aspen, Grand Junction and Vail.
