Job Description

Under the direction of the Studio Manager, the Studio Project Assistant is responsible for assisting in the overall operation of the recording studio and supporting the recording studio book & magazine production programs. Includes technical support, planning, research, development and editing. Responsibilities include the following: - Assist studio staff with the conversion of digital production files into formatted digital book & magazine files for final mastering and duplication. - Assist with the creation of digital production sub-masters for archival storage and preservation. - Assist in reviewing and editing sound files produced by studio volunteers. Assist with the copying, collating and packaging of materials for the studio. - Assist in monitoring and maintaining studio equipment, scheduling repairs as needed, ordering supplies and keeping studio areas in good working order. - In the absence of the Studio Manager provide direction to volunteers. - Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned.

Additional Info & Requirements

2 years experience in a related field required. Preference may be given to applicants having sensitivity to the artistic elements of spoken communication, a broad literary background and appreciation, knowledge of Braille codes or concepts of Braille production and/or experience working with blind, visually impaired, physically disabled and/or multi-impaired people. Knowledge of Digital Recording Software required.
