Job Description25% SAFETY - Manages the safety of employees and patrons by handling the incident report process, investigating claims, identifying causes, developing and implementing policies and procedures, and determining proper actions in order to establish preventive measures. 25% SECURITY - Takes appropriate action to handle patrons who display offensive or disrespectful behavior by examining the problem, initiating contact with patrons, counseling patrons, documenting and enforcing security actions and following up, where necessary, in order to provide a pleasant and safe environment to patrons and employees. Also works with local law enforcement agencies by evaluating and adjusting security needs in order to provide a security presence in District facilities. 20% TRAINING - Establishes a comprehensive training plan by instructing employees on safety procedures, handling emergency situations and evacuations, facilitating safety meetings, maintaining safety training records, and updating the Safety Manual in order to establish a commitment to employee safety and compliance. 15% LOSS PREVENTION - Identifies and analyzes risks by conducting safety and loss control inspections, evaluating the safety and security for all facilities, and making recommendations for improvements in order to ensure compliance and protection. 15% DISASTER RECOVERY - Implements operational procedures and strategies in collaboration with other departments and facilities by evaluating, recommending and updating the disaster recovery plan in order to minimize the interruption of services.

The CommunityThe Arapahoe Library District, a public library system serving more than 200,000 residents living in Arapahoe County. Arapahoe County and other major suburban counties make up the greater metropolitan area surrounding Denver, Colorado. The Arapahoe Library District operates eight branch libraries, an Outreach Service that provides mobile library services, and a library at the County Detention Center, funded by the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Department. A seven-member Board of Trustees sets the library budget and determines policy.
