Job Description
The City of Artesia, NM is seeking a Library Administrator for the new Artesia Public Library currently under construction. The Position: Responsible for overall operations of the Artesia Public Library including a variety of administrative and supervisory work in planning, organizing and implementing the programs and services of the Library. Master’s degree (M.A.) or equivalent MLS From an ALA-accredited institution and Permanent Professional Certification, five (5) years progressively responsible experience in library operation including two (2) years supervisory experience; OR ten (10) years related experience and/or training, five of which must be in general library operations, grade II certification; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Through knowledge of the principals and practices of modern library systems and programs, through knowledge of library collection classification and selection techniques. The Facility: Approximately 25,000 square foot state of the art library that is currently under construction.
