Job Description

It is the mission of the Pikes Peak Library District to seek, engage, and transform lives through library services and resources that enrich individual lives and build community. This position operates in a diverse environment to help fulfill the library’s mission by providing children’s reference and information services, programming, and outreach while encouraging children’s use of the library. Provides library services and materials to the community served by the library, including information services, readers’ advisory services, circulation, and programming. Assumes responsibility for the daily operation of the department in the absence of management. Under general supervision of the Children’s Services Manager, provides information service, reader's advisory service and programming for children. Creates an environment that encourages children's use of the library. Work responsibility time averages: • Children’s programming, services 50% • Assisting customers at the service desk 40% • PPLD district-wide responsibilities such as teams, meetings & daily operations 10%

Additional Info & Requirements

Prefer candidates with experience working with children in a library setting.
