Job Description

The Auraria Library, serving the University of Colorado Denver, Downtown Denver Campus; Metropolitan State University of Denver; and the Community College of Denver, seeks a dynamic, energetic, and innovative individual to serve as the Desktop Support Manager. This exempt professional position, reporting to the IT Manager, will provide support, maintenance, and development for Library technology. Examples of Work Performed: • Ensures best practices for IT support, including change, incident, problem, and asset management policies and procedures are created and utilized. • Identifies computer hardware, software malfunctions and takes appropriate action to resolve issues ensuring data/system integrity. • Actively participate and contribute ideas and suggestions to accomplish department and organization goals. • Continually research, evaluate and provide documented recommendations for new technologies and tools within the Library Information Technology field. • Take ownership of issues which are assigned and/or self-assigned and communicate status to all stakeholders. • Provide technology training to library staff and student workers. • Manage print and file servers. • Setup, install and maintain thin clients and virtual disk image. • Manage helpdesk tickets and provide technical assistance to team members. • Make recommendation for hardware and software purchases. • Automate software application and image deployments. • Manage all stages of project planning. Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or equivalent combination of coursework and work experience • Two years of experience in Desktop Support Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with audio/video streaming • Experience with LAMP stack • Experience working in libraries and/or higher education • Knowledge of Drupal • Apple device support and management experience • One year of experience managing Desktop Support
