Job Description
This work unit is responsible for analyzing, acquiring, organizing, classifying and providing access to a wide range of information resources in multiple formats that support the teaching, research and clinical missions of the Univ of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. The work unit provides accurate identification and description of information resources in the library’s databases. The unit provides for logical location within the library collections, regardless of format. Information resources are primarily electronic in format and purchased through library consortia. This position exists to manage the ordering, licensing, renewal, payment and maintenance activities involved in acquiring and making available a wide range of e-resources including e-journals, databases and ebooks. This position monitors the electronic resources acquisition budget, anticipates and resolves order problems, communicates information about e-resources, and documents procedures and best practices for the tasks involved in e-resource acquisition. This position works closely with library faculty, publishers, vendors, library consortia and the CU System Contracts Administrators on the many processes involved in acquiring and making an e-resource available.Additional Info & Requirements
Compensation: The salary offered is usually the minimum listed, however, a salary above the minimum may be offered for some hard to fill positions. Responsibilities: The Health Sciences Library, at the Anschutz Medical Campus has an immediate opening for a full-time Accounting Technician III in Collection Management. This position exists to manage the ordering, licensing, renewal, payment and maintenance activities involved in acquiring and making available a wide range of e-resources including e-journals, databases and ebooks. This position monitors the electronic resources acquisition budget, anticipates and resolves order problems, communicates information about e-resources, and documents procedures and best practices for the tasks involved in e-resource acquisition. This position will also acquire information resources in all formats, monitor expenditures for information resources, negotiate with library vendors, collaborate with CU colleagues on system-wide shared purchases, maintain information in the library’s backend databases, execute licenses for information resources, work with the library’s Electronic Resources Librarian and Head of Information Technology to resolve access problems of library resources, and participate in library committees and general operations. This position works closely with library faculty, publishers, vendors, library consortia and the CU System Contracts Administrators on the many processes involved in acquiring and making an e-resource available. Preferred: *At least one year experience working in a library *Experience working an integrated library system (ILS) such as III or ExLibris *Experience working in a higher education setting *Experience utilizing CU Marketplace, Purchase Order, or Standing Purchase Order. *Experience utilizing Concur database *Experience trialing, purchasing, renewing, and changing system-wide shared purchases.HR Info
