Executive Director Assignments and Responsibilities Fundraising: Actively pursue donations from individuals and businesses Build and maintain an extensive and responsive donor base Research, prepare, and submit grants to support library programs Organize and support FCLF sponsored special fundraising events and campaigns Administrative: Support the work of the Foundation board and its committees Maintain the required records of FCLF Assure that FCLF complies with all applicable federal and state government regulations Manage the financial affairs and adopted policies of FCLF Help create and implement Foundation’s Strategic Plan Accept, record, and acknowledge donor gifts and pledges and report regularly to the Foundation board: Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for FCLF events or projects Assist in the recruitment, orientation, and development of Foundation board members Increase visibility of the Foundation and the Friends Represent Foundation at public events Collaborate with library staff for marketing and public relations efforts Cultivate mutually beneficial community partnerships Requirements and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree Experience with successful fundraising efforts Strong interpersonal skills Effective problem-solving skills Self-motivated Effective time management Strong written and verbal communication skills Additional Information This position requires travel throughout Flathead County; valid driver’s license and means of transportation required. Some evenings, weekend, and holiday work may occur for Foundation and Library meetings and events. Attendance at Foundation meetings and events is required. Bordering Glacier National Park, Flathead County has 90,000 residents and offers tremendous recreational opportunities. The Flathead County Library has a main library in Kalispell and branches in Bigfork, Columbia Falls, and Marion. The Flathead County Library Foundation works to enhance and support the programs, facilities, and patron services of the Flathead County Library System through fundraising and acceptance of charitable gifts.
