Job Description

REFERENCE LIBRARIAN (2 positions): Regis University Library seeks two dynamic, team-oriented librarians to participate in the development and provision of reference and instruction services, with a special emphasis on services to the Rueckert Hartman College of Health Professions. There is one 12-month (1.0 FTE) position and one 9 month (0.75 FTE, August – April) position. Responsibilities include reference and research assistance, formal user instruction in computer-equipped and traditional classrooms, development of online instructional and informational resources, and collection development for the health sciences. Some evening and occasional weekend hours are required. Experience as a professional librarian in an academic setting preferred including experience with traditional and online reference services, library instruction at the university level in both classroom and online formats, and the use of emerging technologies and online resources. Experience and/or education in the sciences (especially health sciences) strongly preferred. Candidates must show evidence of imaginative thinking and planning, flexibility, solid communication and teaching skills, effective performance as a member of a team, and ability to relate to a diverse clientele. Must possess an ALA-accredited MLS and show potential for contributing to the profession through professional organization leadership and publications. A 2nd master’s degree is preferred. Compensation: This appointment is a ranked, faculty position. Regis supports professional development through subsidies for professional travel and a flexible sabbatical program.
