JOB OPENING: Head Librarian III – Olivia/Renville/Fairfax (MN) Public Libraries GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Pioneerland Library System seeks a Head Librarian with successful public library experience to direct and coordinate the activities of three (3) rural libraries. Duties include supervision of staff, budgeting, collection development and all other activities related to the operation and management of multiple libraries. A thorough knowledge of library science principles and procedures along with experience supervising staff and computer knowledge is required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in library science or a related field and a minimum of two years work experience, including management experience in a public library or branch library; or an equivalent combination of education and experience necessary to perform the essential duties of the job. Experience with supervising and coordinating the work of a larger contingent of library personnel and managing multiple locations is preferred. Position Open Until Filled HOURS: Total hours between the combined libraries not to exceed 40 hours per week. Appointment range: $38,459 - $41,558 per year DOE.
