Job Description

The IT Project Analyst is responsible for planning, executing, evaluating and completion of IT projects according to pre-determined time lines and budgets. Must be familiar with a variety of IT concepts, practices and procedures. Building and managing project teams, reporting to the project sponsor, defining the project’s objectives and ensuring quality control throughout project life cycles is central to this position. Work is performed with considerable independent judgment and initiative. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented collaborative environment is essential. • Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and time lines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities. • Effectively reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently. • Must be flexible during times of change. • Must have the ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines. • Strong persuasive, encouraging and motivating skills are required. • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, staff and other departments. • Must be able to defuse tension among project team, should it arise. • Must be able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with all levels of personnel. Must also possess strong interpersonal skills and listening skills. • Strong customer service skills are required. • Must have the ability to learn, understand and apply new technologies required to perform job duties, working effectively independently or as part of a team to complete tasks as assigned. • Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products. • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment is crucial. • Must communicate effectively using English. Must read, write and understand English at a level appropriate to the position.

Additional Info & Requirements

• Computer Skills: Must demonstrate proficiency in computer use including internet, email, Microsoft Office Products (or equivalent). Keyboard skills required at an equivalent of typing 50 words per minute with minimal errors. Must be able to learn and become proficient with equipment and software programs as required to effectively and efficiently perform assigned duties. • Physical Abilities: Must have the physical ability, stamina, mobility and manual dexterity to: Support all aspects of operating a seven-day-a-week library. Work at computer workstations, repetitively for extended periods. Regularly participate in meetings or events at various locations and hours. Access and transport relevant materials up to 35 pounds, and read a minimum 8 point font, regularly. On an occasional basis, tolerate residual smoke, dust, mold or foreign substances on materials.
