Job Description

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs seeks a Circulation Services Professional in the Circulation Department of the Kraemer Family Library. The Circulation Department is responsible for circulating library materials to all patrons, maintaining the collections in an organized and accessible manner, and managing the opening and closing of the facility. The Circulation Services Professional position exists to manage the operations of the Circulation Department, facilitate and promote patron access to library resources, and ensure the efficient circulation of library materials to patrons. This position works under the direction of the Access Services Librarian and coordinates the essential functions of the Circulation Department, overseeing the operations of two service desks and resolving problems that impact services and operations. This position identifies opportunities to improve and expand circulation services through policy revision and/or the implementation of new technologies. This position serves as the Manager of the Library’s print and electronic course reserve services and ensures that requested materials are being made available in compliance with U.S. Copyright Law. This position manages the billing for lost materials and collaborates with the Bursars Office and the Colorado State Collections Agency in recovering billing fees. This position also serves as a liaison on Library and University committees, task forces, and teams; representing the interests of the Department and serving as a representative of the needs and interests of the Library’s patrons. This position manages 3 FTE Library Technician II positions, coordinating and establishing their work schedules and assigning work load. This position establishes these staff members’ performance plans, monitors their progress in achieving performance goals, holds coaching sessions with staff, and formally evaluates their performance on a yearly basis. This position also shares in the supervision of the Department’s student employees.

Appointment and Salary: This is a full-time University Staff position (Professional Exempt). Starting salary range is $40,000 - $51,000 depending upon qualifications. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the U.S. at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin.
