Summary: The Digital Repository Librarian will work in the Health Sciences Library under the supervision of the Head of Information Services. The CDR (Creighton Digital Repository) team presently consists of two librarians and one support staff position. Librarians from all three libraries contribute to the management of particular collections. The CDR is well established and continues to grow in both size and complexity with over 32,000 items in more than 175 collections. Will be responsible to develop and manage the Research Data Management & Curation Service project. This will include manage the de-identification of clinical data to meet HIPPA regulations; Oversee the development and management of undergraduate, graduate, and faculty research data collections: customizing DSpace themes (css, xsl), creating & customizing input forms, creating metadata records, preparing and managing the batch loading of items into collections; Share responsibility of CDR system administration: monitor performance, manage individual and group accounts, assist with upgrade planning; Train library staff , collection administrators, and other end-users on the use and management of the CDR; Prepare training materials as needed. Training will usually occur in small group or individual sessions; and supervise / manage digitization projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: -Master\'s Degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA program required. -Demonstrated knowledge of, experience with, a major digital repository system (i.e. DSpace, Fedora, Digital Commons, etc.); Strongly prefer experience adding content to a DSpace installation and familiarity with the Linux or Unix operating environment -3-5 years\' related experience. -Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot with information technology such as xslt and css, or experience with computer programming. -Experience working independently and with a project team in an academic setting -Experience working in an academic library, preferably in health sciences (i.e. familiarity or experience with clinical research). -Project management experience. -Knowledge of library procedures and copyright law -Strong verbal and written communication skills Essential Functions (%): 60% Primary Responsibilities: -Develop and manage the Research Data Management & Curation Service project. -Manage the de-identification of clinical data to meet HIPPA regulations. -Oversee the development and management of undergraduate, graduate, and faculty research data collections: customizing DSpace themes (css, xsl), creating & customizing input forms, creating metadata records, preparing and managing the batch loading of items into collections. -Share responsibility of CDR (Creighton Digital Repository) system administration: monitor performance, manage individual and group accounts, assist with upgrade planning. 40% -Train library staff , collection administrators, and other end-users on the use and management of the CDR (Creighton Digital Repository). Training will usually occur in small group or individual sessions. -Supervise / manage digitization projects as assigned. -Manage reporting on the use and growth of materials in the CDR (Creighton Digital Repository). -Serve as a permanent member of the CDR (Creighton Digital Repository) oversight committee and other CDR committees as assigned. -Assist in the development of policies and procedures for the CDR (Creighton Digital Repository). -Provide reference and search assistance at the User Assistance Desk, primarily on the Saturday rotation schedule. -Participate on various library and university committees as assigned.
