Job Description
1. Provides excellent customer service and maintains a courteous, positive image of the library when interacting with patrons and staff 2. Maintains confidentiality in all patron and staff interactions 3. Works on the public service desks approximately 19 hours per week providing information service to walk-in and telephone patrons 4. Assists and instructs patrons through material and on-line searches, computer software applications, community referrals, and outside sources/collections 5. Provides general assistance and information about the library’s services and procedures 6. Refers patrons and in-depth research questions to reference staff 7. May provide support for specialized projects, services, programs, and activities related to divisional goals and needs 8. May troubleshoot basic computer and office equipment problems 9. Performs other related duties as assignedAdditional Info & Requirements

Requires a minimum of one year of library experience or other public service work experience 3. Requires intermediate-level proficiency using Microsoft software applications (specifically MS Word, Excel, Outlook); prefer candidates that can accurately type 45+ words per minute 4. Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work in a team environment, a “whatever it takes” work ethic, and an excellent customer service attitude; bilingual ability is a plus in serving our diverse patronsHR Info
